DIY Homemade Laundry Detergent {Best Recipe Ever!}

December 9, 2020 by 101 Days... Leave a Comment

The concept of a DIY homemade laundry detergent is not new. In fact, there are several recipes out there. But I’ve done a little research to find the best, most effective one, and I’m sharing it with you today. And in what I consider to be a major plus, you don’t need to grate a bar of soap to make this recipe!

DIY Homemade Laundry Detergent {Best Recipe Ever!}

No Grate Laundry Detergent

Here is what you need to make the best DIY homemade laundry detergent:

1/2 cup each Dawn Dishwashing soap, Borax, and Washing Soda

4 cups hot water

cold water

A gallon-sized container to store the finished detergent. Purchase a gallon jug of spring water from Dollar Tree and use the water to make the detergent. This is a helpful tip!

Simply add the Dawn dishwashing soap, Borax, and Washing Soda to the gallon container. Pour in 4 cups of HOT water, and shake to thoroughly dissolve all of the ingredients. Once everything looks thoroughly combined, fill the container the rest of the way with cold water.

When you do the laundry, just add 1/4 cup of this DIY homemade laundry detergent to the washing machine for a regular load. Use 1/3 cup for a large or extra dirty load.t’s a good idea to give the container a quick shake before each use of the DIY homemade detergent, because some settling of the ingredients may occur between uses.

For extra cleaning power or brightening of your whites, add a little oxygenated cleaner or white vinegar to the washing machine when you add the detergent.
