How to Clean With Clove Oil

November 14, 2017 by 101 Days... Leave a Comment

Clove essential oil is an amazing little powerhouse! It is anti-fungal, anti-viral, and anti-microbial. It also has anesthetic properties–clove oil will numb toothache pain when applied to the gums around an aching tooth.  Today’s post is all about how to clean with clove oil. With all those powerhouse properties, it’s a great thing to use, especially during cold and flu season!

NOW Clove Oil, 2 -Ounce

If you’ve got a few spots of mold in your shower, clove oil will help you take care of it and stop it from coming back. Just put 1/4 teaspoon of clove oil in a 16-ounce spray bottle, and fill it with water. Spray the mixture onto moldy areas and let it sit for awhile before scrubbing away the mold. To keep mold from coming back, spray some more of the mixture onto clean areas and leave it to dry. This will work on tile, grout, and even your plastic shower curtain.

For wood furniture with mold spores, you can use clove oil to help inhibit mold growth. After thoroughly cleaning your wood furniture with a wood cleaner such as Murphy’s Oil Soap, rub a little clove oil on the wood. Just a few drops applied to a clean, soft cloth and rubbed into the wood will do the trick.

To clean the air inside your home, Dr. Axe recommends diffusing the oil into the air with a diffuser. Here’s an affordable diffuser I’ve been using in my home. I highly recommend checking it out!
