Here are our best Spring cleaning tips & hacks to get you started on your own Spring cleaning checklist:

  • Make sure you are all stocked up on your favorite cleaning products and tools. If you need some recommendations, check out our post on 12 Must-Have Tools for Spring Cleaning. You’re sure to find something you need!
  • Don’t forget the extra large trash bags for getting rid of stuff you don’t need or plan to donate.
  • Plan your meals for the week of Spring cleaning ahead of time. If you’re like me, the last thing you want to do is cook after a day of cleaning. Freezer meals are a great idea!
  • Decide on a cleaning schedule and write it down. Keep it handy on a clipboard so you can check things off as you accomplish them. This is a great visual reminder of everything you’ve accomplished and helps you keep going.

Need help with your Spring cleaning schedule? Here are some good ideas:

  • Break everything down into days. For example, day 1 is for cleaning baseboards and windows throughout your home. Day 2 is for washing curtains, bedding {including quilts}, and flipping the mattresses. On day 3, focus all your efforts on the kitchen. Bathrooms are the star of day 4. Day 5 is devoted to the office and the playroom. Vacuum the entire house. On day 6, clean carpeting, then change all the smoke detector batteries.
  • Leave yourself a day to rest and take a breather. Everyone deserves that!
  • Don’t forget to plan time for “extra” chores. These include such tasks as cleaning out your car, bringing out your warm weather clothes, and packing away the winter wardrobe.
