How to Get White Clothes BRIGHT White

July 16, 2020 by 101 Days... 9 Comments

For white items that have yellow stains, just mix hydrogen peroxide, baking soda, and some dawn dish soap. Once you have a paste-like mixture, use a small scrubbing brush, and apply the mixture to the area that needs treatment. Scrub it in well, and let it sit for about 30 minutes. Then throw your white items in with your other whites that need to be cleaned, and follow your normal washing and drying routine. The stains will disappear and your clothes will look really white! This works especially well for armpit stains in clothing.

Does this only work on cotton?
My husband has a favorite shirt that is rayon /polyester blend. He stubbornly continues to wear it, even though it has turned a grayish yellow. I’ve tried everything! Other than the color, it’s in perfect condition. I really don’t want to toss it, but I may not have any other choice, unless you can help me out. Please, please, please!
    Thank you,
    Alisha

If the shirt is all white get a box of color remover (that is in the dye section) and follow the directions. The shirt will come out like brand new.

What you can do is fill your washer (top Loading) with hot water add half a cup of borax and soak your whites overnight and shut machine off, then wash the next day remember to leave the machine on hot and regular wash, when the machine is finished put it on a second rinse cycle. Borax has become my go to cleaner, I use a 1/4 cup in every load and all my whites and brights are no longer dull. Remember that before you start you white load make sure that the machine is clean and free of any lint. Borax is also green!

Hi, Can I ask what you mean by dishwashing soap? Is it soap for dishwashers or soap for hand washing dishes in the sink? Thanks.
