I’ll bet you thought your freezer was only for food, am I right? {I used to think that myself!} In reality, your freezer will do some really handy jobs for you. Stick around to see 10 things you didn’t know you could do with your freezer!
1. I love burning candles in my home, how about you? I don’t love it when they seem to burn away to nothing way too fast! Well here’s a great tip for all of us. Place your brand-new candles in the freezer before you burn them, and leave them for a day. It works because cold wax burns and melts much slower, so your favorite candles will last longer.
2. If you hate how fast your denim fades with every wash, wash it less often. But how can you do that and not wear smelly denim? Easy! Stick those jeans in a canvas bag inside the freezer overnight, and the cold will kill any odor-causing bacteria and freshen them up without washing.
3. The same odor-killing move for jeans works for your smelly shoes too. Put them in a plastic bag and freeze overnight to freshen them right up!
4. Stretch out a pair of too-tight shoes by sticking them in the freezer. Well, fill a Ziploc bag with water and stick it down inside the shoes first. The water will freeze, expand, and stretch out the shoes. Easy!
5. Fight a sunburn by sticking your aloe vera gel in the freezer for an hour, then slather it over your sunburn. AHHH!
6. Eyeliner is much easier and faster to sharpen if you chill it in the freezer first. Just stick it in there for an hour, then achieve the sharp tip you want.
7. In the heat of summer, chill out when you go to bed by sticking your pillowcase in the freezer for a bit first. {I had a kid who would do this every night!} It is a handy tip if ever your air conditioning goes out.
8. To keep moths and their larvae out of your winter sweaters, stick them in the freezer during the warmer months. Just freeze them in individual gallon-sized storage bags.
9. If you accidentally seal an envelope too soon, you can pop it right back open by sticking it in the freezer for a few minutes.
10. The next time you need to whip up some heavy cream, place the bowl and the beaters into the freezer first. You’ll be able to whip the cream faster and easier once the bowl and beaters are thoroughly chilled.
