There is a way to whiten your whites, naturally, without the harsh effects of bleach or other chemical whiteners, and I am here to show you how!
Vinegar is an effective whitener, but not everyone can appreciate its lingering scent {wanna smell like salad dressing, anyone?}. Four Monks has a vinegar made just for you: a cleaning vinegar that actually smells pretty nice, and is also even more effective at cleaning than regular vinegar.
To effectively whiten your whites, fill a large stock pot halfway with warm water, and add one cup of Four Monks Cleaning Vinegar. Bring it to a boil, then remove from the heat and promptly add your dirty whites to the stock pot. Stir everything all up to make sure all your whites are wet. Cover the pot and set it in a spot where it won’t get knocked over.
Now soak those dirty whites at least overnight, or better yet, for a full day. After soaking, remove your whites from the vinegar solution and wring them out. Now, just run them through your washing machine as you normally would. You can run them through the dryer. Or, for even more whitening power, enlist the help of the sun’s natural bleaching effects and hang them outside to dry.
For regular maintenance of your whites, just add a cup of vinegar {regular or cleaning} to your wash loads. One perk of doing this is that your washing machine will be cleaner and fresher because vinegar gets rid of musty odors, hard water deposits, and even mildew. Vinegar also acts as a fabric softener, so your towels will be fluffier, too.
