Essential oils are the perfect way to make your home smell amazing–without toxic chemicals. And you don’t even need an expensive diffuser! If you have one, keep using it, but I think you’ll find these additional ways to use essential oils to be fun and effective. Check them out!
1.Make your own scented candles from beeswax and essential oils. You don’t have to worry about fake fragrances or toxic chemicals in the air, just clean, fresh scents you love.
2. If you like wax melts instead of the open flame of a candle, you can make those instead. Add your favorite essential oils to scent your home for hours.
3. Make an essential oil burner easily with a clean tin can, a small ceramic dish, and a tea light. Such an easy project you won’t believe!
4. Are you ready for this one? It’s so easy, anyone can do it. Before you insert a new furnace filter, put 10 drops of your favorite essential oil on it. Now put it into place. That’s it! You can pull the filter weekly, or however often you like, and put more oil on it as needed before replacing it.
5. If you’ve got a fireplace, make and use some of these fire starters with essential oils, and watch the whole house will smell great!
6. Take a wooden clothespin, and add a few drops of essential to it. Now just clip the clothespin to the backside of an air vent in each room of your home. Every time the furnace or air conditioner comes on, your chosen scent will fill each room. When the scent dries up, just add more and put the clothespin back.
7. Easily make your own room freshening spray with essential oils and two other non-toxic ingredients. You’ll be glad you did!
8. If you need something that actually absorbs odors, then this all-natural, homemade air freshener is for you. All you need is baking soda and essential oils in a glass jar!
9. If you love those pretty gel air fresheners, good news! You can make those, too. Just grab some Knox gelatin, water, vodka {acts as a preservative}, essential oils and food coloring. Find the gelatin at Amazon and glass jars at Dollar Tree!
10. Buy some reeds online, and you’ve got the makings of a homemade diffuser.
11. If you already have some of those plug-in air fresheners, don’t buy anymore. You can refill them with your own essential oil mixture!
12. These DIY scented wax sachets are so pretty and so easy!
