Apartments are trending on the smaller size, and because of that, so are the appliances to put in them. Have you seen the size of some of the refrigerators they’re using lately? Seriously, if you rent and have to deal with a tiny refrigerator, or if you share an apartment with roomies and have just a small spot in the refrigerator to store your own food, you need to read today’s post. After you read it, you’ll know how to fit TONS more in a tiny refrigerator.

Think about the packaging that your food comes in. It’s often bigger {ahem, sometimes a lot!} than the product that’s housed in it. So the easiest trick to store TONS more in a tiny refrigerator is to simply remove the outer packaging. An example is pancake or baking mix that needs refrigeration. There is often an inner bag holding the pancake mix, so if you remove that from the box you’ll instantly make more space in the refrigerator. To keep the directions from the box, just use a pair of scissors to clip them off and then tape them to the outside of the inner bag.

You'll always have room in your fridge for drinks when you use these super strong magnets ($32, amazon.com) to hang bottles from your fridge's ceiling. Plus, this organizer frees up space underneath the beverages for food, too.

When you're forced to jam groceries into even the farthest corner, it's a total hassle to retrieve them later. Deep bins mean you can pull out sections of stuff in one quick movement — and avoid the daily excavation at dinnertime. See more at One Good Thing By Jillee »

Easily add an extra shelf by purchasing a wire rack. Find an inexpensive version at Dollar Tree.

Instead of storing tall items like juice standing up, lay them on their side so you can add an extra shelf above them for more storage. See more at Lifehacker »
