Cleaning makeup brushes can be such a tedious and unplesant chore. Well would you have ever thought that there is an easy way to clean your makeup brushes that actually involves your hair ties? More specifically, drying your makeup brushes after cleaning. the whole process is so much easier and faster when you use hair ties! How can hair ties help? Stick around, and I’ll tell you all the things you need to know to successfully use this technique.
I don’t know about you, but when I clean my makeup brushes, they get thoroughly wet. As recommended, I lay them down to dry on a clean towel. But then I wait. And wait. And wait a little longer. Then maybe I turn them over a few times and pick them up and slap them on the towel to get them to dry faster. Drying them seems to take forever! This is where hair ties come in. Slapping your brushes on a towel can actually damage the bristles. If you own some nice makeup brushes {like these from Amazon!} you don’t want to do this. Instead, grab your hair ties. You’ll need one hair tie for each of your freshly cleaned makeup brushes.
Find a horizontal bar in your bathroom. The shower curtain rod is perfect. If you don’t have a shower curtain, try a towel bar (if that’s the style you have). Anywhere that allows your brushes to hang upside down with plenty of air circulation is perfect. Hold each makeup brush upside down and perpendicular to the curtain rod. Use a hair tie to securely fasten the center of each brush handle to the curtain rod, as shown in the picture above.
Now your brushes can dry faster without any risk of damage to the bristles. Genius!
