Would you love to feel more organized at home? Is the thought of organizing everything just so overwhelming that you never seem to get started? Well, take heart, because you aren’t the only one. Breaking home organization down into short 10 minute tasks works wonders for getting it done. Here are some great ways to organize your home in only 10 minutes at a time.
Choose one drawer of your bedroom dresser and remove everything in it. Refold and regroup like items together, and then return them to the drawer in a more organized fashion.
10 minutes is the perfect amount of time to go through your car to pick up the trash and throw it away.
Grab a garbage sack and head to your bedroom. Declutter the top of your dresser or night table. Throw away any accumulated junk and toss what you don’t use.
Choose one collection of things you have stored in your home, such as camping or sports equipment, and go through it to remove unwanted and/or unused items.
Walk through your home and grab all the extra batteries. Now designate one spot for them in a drawer and keep them there.
Check the refrigerator for anything expired and throw it away. Quickly reorganize the shelves.
Take 10 minutes and clean up your desk drawer. Throw away old sticky notes and pens that have run out of ink.
Gather up the mail from around the house, and separate it into piles such as “shred” or “take action”.
Pick up your gym bag and clean it out. Dump out crumbs and trash that seems to accumulate in the bottom.
Go to your closet and pick out 5 things you haven’t worn in over a year. Reassess whether you really need to hang onto them.
