Feeling bored with your bedroom, but no time to make it over? Today I have some lightning fast ways to brighten up a boring bedroom. The best part is that they’re all easy and inexpensive!
My favorite way to brighten up my bedroom is to freshen up the sheets. {Do you need to replace your pillows?}. Martha Stewart recommends the power of baking soda to freshen your bed linens. Just add 1/2 cup to the wash load. And you can always hang them out in the sun to dry if the weather cooperates!
Every two or three months, take comforters out and hang them in the sun. The sun instantly provides freshening power and an awesome scent, without having to wash or dry clean them.
Did you know that your closet can also acquire a stale smell? You can get rid of it by placing an open box of baking soda on the shelf. Replace the box every month, just like you do with your refrigerator.
When you freshen your closet, don’t forget the smelly sneakers. A little baking soda in the bottom will absorb odors when you’re not wearing them. {Remember to shake out the baking soda before putting them on}.
Another favorite of mine is to take down the curtains and wash them–or at least take them outside and shake off the dust. {Just getting rid of the accumulated dust will instantly brighten them up!}. Leave them out in the sun for awhile to freshen their scent.
