Sometimes life can be hard. Sometimes we get lemons and we just don’t know what to do with them. Instead of sitting back and letting life run you over, take some action and make your life better! Here are some simple but genius tips to help you nail it at life and make things look better!
- Don’t you hate it when you’re walking and then all of the sudden “snap!”, your flip flop breaks? That’s just the worst! However, you may not need to throw those favorite sandals away at all! In fact, you can salvage it pretty easily. Stick a bread clip at the end of the plastic so it won’t pop out of the flip flop again.
- This idea is genius! When you need to hang up something exactly but don’t know where the holes should go, just photocopy the object, hang it up, and drill the holes based on the paper! This, of course, can only be done with smaller objects, but it makes your life 100x easier and gets rid of any messy guessing.
- Clean out the space between the keys on your computer by running a post-it note through it. Slide the note between the spaces and it will pick up all the crumbs and fluff, especially if you use the sticky side.
- If you have to watch a YouTube video online for work, school, or something else, then here’s a great tip! Under the setting options, you can adjust the speed of the video to be 1.5 or 2X faster than normal. That means you get all the information in half the time!
- A good way to try and lose weight is eating with your non-dominant hand. This makes it less of a habitual action, so you won’t just eat without thinking about it.
- I’ve never tried this one personally, but apparently if you feel an itchy bug bite setting in, then rub a glue stick on it. This not only keeps your hands from scratching it absent-mindedly, but also is supposed to make the itch disappear.
- Organize the wires behind your desk by using bread clips, bread ties, or something similar. They won’t be tangled anymore and you can know exactly where each cord is plugged in!
- Do you have a pair of shoes that are scuffed up and dirty? No problem! Just take some nail polish that matches the color of the shoes and use that to cover up any splotches!
- If you want to hear out of your phone speaker betters, then there are actually a bunch of ways to do that. You can make a simple speaker by cutting a hole in a toilet paper roll and sticking your phone in it, setting your phone in a bowl, or even using a plastic cup.
- Do you hate it when you’re cooking and the recipe book keeps on falling shut? You don’t need to buy an expensive cookbook holder, just use a pants hanger! Hang it from a knob and then use the clasps on the hanger to hold your book open!
- For cleaning help, use a dustpan to fill a bucket from the sink. No more struggling to get the bucket up there, you just have the water drain through the dustpan and down into the bucket!
- If you’re like me and have big fingers, then you probably struggling with getting keys on your keyring. A simple solution is just using a stapler remover to hold open the metal and then just slide the key in.
- You can make a great DIY lantern by filling a milk jug or clear bottle with water. Then just attach a flashlight or your phone to the side or bottom of the container, and it will distribute the light evenly and a lot better than the direct beam! This is great for camping hacks or just trying to move around the house at night.
- Chargers can be expensive and it can get frustrating if you constantly have to be buying new ones. Fix this by putting a pen spring around the part of the wire that connects to the head. This prevents the wire from bending and cracking, thus saving you money.
- If you REALLY want a cold drink, but don’t have ice and can’t wait for the fridge to do its job, then here’s a great tip! Wrap the drink in a wet paper towel and stick it in the freezer. IN about fifteen minutes (or maybe less), it will be ice cold—perfect for drinking!
- I love making breakfast, but the mess is always so obnoxious—especially when it comes to pancakes! Instead of getting mix, eggs, water, etc. all over the counter every time you cook, just put it in a ketchup or squeezable bottle! Not only does this give your pancakes the perfect shape, it also gets rid of the mess!
- Have you ever really wanted to eat your apple sauce or similar snack but realized you forgot a spoon! Don’t worry, you don’t have to gulp it down like a caveperson—just turn the foil wrapper into a spoon! Problem solved and no need to carry utensils around.
- While I love going to the beach, it can be stressful when I always have to be checking to make sure no one is stealing my stuff I left back at the towel. One clever way to trick potential thieves is by cleaning out a large sunscreen container and then using it to hide your wallet, keys, and other personal items!
- Another great way to deter potential robbers is by hiding money in hollowed out chapstick tubes. You’ll have a secret place to keep some extra cash and won’t have to worry about anyone stealing it. A great idea for traveling!
- When you’re having a big BBQ party, there’s no need to use a dozen plates just for the condiments! Instead, use a muffin tin and fill each spot with condiments like mustard, onions, ketchup, etc.
- It’s so frustrating when all the keys on your keyring look exactly the same. A simple way to fix this problem is by painting them different colors! That way you’ll know right away which one goes to what lock.
- Never spend more than 20 seconds to clean your blender ever again! Instead of individually hand washing each of the parts, just fill it with soapy warm water, run the blender for a few minutes, and voila! It will have cleaned itself.
- Another great cleaning hack is putting a bowl full of water and a bit of vinegar in the microwave. Run the appliance for a few minutes and then, when you take it out, all the gunk should be easy to wipe off!
- We all love that gooey delicious snack called Nutella, so what’s the best way to get the most out of the jar? Don’t lick it or stick your fingers in there, but drop a scoop or two of ice cream in it! You can smoosh the ice cream against the inside of the container so it grabs up the rest of the Nutella! Genius, and it is a delicious snack!
- Don’t ever struggle with messy wrapping paper ever again! Instead of letting them getting bunched up or rolling all over the place, just cut open paper toilet rolls to use as cuffs for each tube of wrapping paper!

I clean my microwave like this all the time. But instead of vinegar I use lemon juice! Plain water works well too.
