The first thing you need to do is pick up all of the pet hair that you can. It doesn’t need to all be gone, but just do a quick run over to make sure you’ve grabbed any loose hair that may be causing an odor.
Next, sprinkle baking soda all over the pet bed. This is the base for the deodorizing and cleaning agent; plus, it shouldn’t do any harm to your pets (unless they have some sort of sensitivity to it). Use as much baking soda as you think is necessary.
If you want, you can also spray some essential oils diffused in water onto the bed for extra freshness. This isn’t necessary, but it can help the pet bed smell even better. However, before you do it, make sure the essential oil you use is safe for your pet and that it actually likes the smell. You don’t want to repel your pet from the bed! Spritz enough water so that it covers the bed but doesn’t make a paste from the baking soda.
Now you just wait for a few hours or overnight if your pet doesn’t need the bed that night. When the time is up, take your vacuum and suck up all the baking soda! Make sure to use the crevice tool to get in all the nooks and crannies of the pet bed. Voila, you’ve now cleaned and deodorized your pet bed!
