If you’ve got plasticware in your kitchen {who doesn’t? It’s perfect for leftovers!} then you know how easily it can be stained. Tomato-based sauces in particular are extremely good at staining any and all plasticware. So how can you remove those red stains so that your plasticware doesn’t look dirty forevermore? Today’s post will show you exactly how to clean your stained plasticware–easily!
Step one is to visit Amazon and purchase a box of denture cleaning tabs, such as Polident. {Yep, you’ve got that right!} Denture cleaning tabs are enzymatic because of the baking soda and citric acid contained in them, so they fizz and are perfect for breaking down and removing tomato-based and other food stains from your plasticware.
Once you have the denture cleaner, grab your offending plasticware and send those tabs to work. Simply fill each container with warm water. Now drop in two or three denture cleaning tabs, depending on the amount of staining. The tabs will begin right away to dissolve the stains. Let the plasticware sit overnight with this solution inside. In the morning, rinse and wash out your plasticware by hand. It should look as good as new!
Another trick for removing stains from your plasticware is to set them out in direct sunlight. Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight also works magic, and the stains will disappear–it will just take longer.
These two tricks should be enough to keep you from having to put up with stained plasticware ever again!
