Offices can get messy quicker than any other room in your house. Papers, computers, office equipment, and so many other things can all add together to create a cluttered mess that doesn’t ever seem to get fixed. If you’re struggling with that, then try some of these great office organization ideas!
- To make your organization look stylish, put a pegboard inside of a picture frame. The picture frame adds color and style to your office, and the pegboard gives you a whole new spot where to can store any of your office supplies.
- If you have a lot of cords and wires hanging around on your desk, then use binder clips to keep them organized. This prevents them from falling in cracks, and can also help you keep track of which one is which.
- Build or buy a wooden keyboard shelf. It slides over the top of your keyboard so that, when you’re not using your computer, the space is still being utilized. Pretty sweet!
- Some people just really detest seeing power strips and all the cords that come with it. If that’s you, then build this great charger box! It’s a cute way to discretely hide all of your chargers while still being able to use them!
- I think this idea is so great (although you’d probably do it more with kids or in REALLY tight spaces). It’s a hidden desk! You can open and close it to be a desk or just a decoration when you don’t need it!
- Mason jars can pretty much be used in a dozen different ways to organize your office. You can stack them on top of each other and store your supplies in them sideways, or simply use them as a classy pencil holder.
- Repurpose an old shutter to hold mail and papers! This adds color, texture, and style to your room without taking up any floor room at all.
- For offices with lots of paperwork, get a mail sorting system. It can be implemented however you want, just make sure you have a system in place that keeps things nice and organized!
- This is such a good idea! Turn an old dresser or chest into a great piece of office equipment! Divide all the sections inside of it into whatever purposes you need them for.
- Attach magnet strips underneath your desk and then store things in containers with metal lids. The jars will hang from the magnet and you can pull them out whenever you need them.
- In an office with limited square feet, turn to the walls to add some storage and organization! You can add hooks, racks, shelves, or whatever else you want. Just make sure to take advantage of the wall!
- You could also try turning part of your desk into storage and organization space! The legs or base of the desk can become pullout drawers or spots to store boxes and other things.
- Smartly plan how you’re going to utilize all the drawer space you can in your desk. It may seem like a good idea to just throw everything in there, but it doesn’t work. Invest in drawer dividers to clean things up!
- If you don’t want to go out and buy a bunch of drawer dividers, then just use a muffin tin! It’s not as professional, but it’s not like clients will be looking through your drawers! And it still gets the job done.
- I hate it when pens and pencils are always falling out of my holders. A way to fix that is by using toilet paper rolls to store them in the container. This keeps them upright while still usable.
- Keep bulky office equipment like printers and fax machines hidden away in drawers and cabinets. You can customize your current drawers to fit the need, but there’s also special office equipment for that kind of organization.
- I can’t say this enough: use file folders for everything. You can never be too organized, and that means you can never have too many file folders! Keep them as specific and divided as your work requires.
- Build a to-do list board that you can hang on your wall and use sticky notes to keep track of goals, deadlines, and projects! It’s a great visual reminder for all the things you need to get done.
- To keep cords out of the way under your feet, install a wire basket on the bottom side of your desk. The power adapter (or other cord) can sit in your basket, keeping it away from your feet and off the ground.
- Build or buy a tiered office organizer for your desk. Not only is it customizable (so you can switch what’s on top when you most need it), but it also helps you utilize vertical organization space.
- Use magazine holders in creative ways around your office. You can attach them to the bottom of shelving to double the storage space, or you can put them somewhere else!
- You can also do the same thing with wall brackets. And the great thing about these is that they add a great touch of style and texture to your office!
