- A super easy way to clean your shower head is to use vinegar and a baggie. Simply fill the baggie with vinegar and tie it around your shower head, making sure it’s submerged. Let it sit for a few hours and your shower head will be all clean!
- Combine your favorite essential oils with baking powder. Sprinkle the mixture on your mattress, let it sit for a few hours, and then vacuum it up. This helps clean and deodorize your mattress.
- Mix one part vegetable oil with two parts baking soda to make a fantastic gunk remover. Simply put it on a toothbrush and scrub it into any parts of your home with gunky and stinky stains.
- If you have a carpet stain, try this. Get a towel wet, put it over the stain, and then use the iron. This should help steam the stain out of the carpet.
- Use a dryer sheet to clean your baseboard. Not only does it clean them, but it also helps them stain dirt and dust free for longer!
- Sprinkle kosher salt onto your cutting board and then use half a lemon to rub it around. This helps sanitize and deodorize your cutting board.
- You don’t always see it, but your oven vent cover can get pretty nasty pretty quick. Clean it by boiling water, slowly adding baking soda, and then dipping your vent cover it in. The heat and baking soda will melt away all the grease and gunk.
- Put a cup of vinegar on the top rack of your dishwasher and run it. This helps break down any nasty buildup that may be in your dishwasher.
- Alternatively, you can put some lemon Kool-Aid in the soap dispenser and run the dishwasher as well. The acid in the mixture helps get rid of any buildup.
- Take your burners and stick them in a bag with ammonia in it. Seal the bag and let them sit for a few hours. When you pull the burners back out, you should be able to easily wash away any gunk and grime.
- Use a mixture of salt and vegetable oil and spread it on your cast iron skillet. Take an open potato and use that to rub in the mixture. This helps clean your skillet without damaging it.
- When cleaning your home, start from the top and work your way down. That way, if any dust or debris falls down, it won’t be onto a surface you just cleaned.
- Put a bowl of vinegar in the microwave and run it for a few minutes. When it’s done, any gunk in the microwave should easily be wiped off now.
- Put a combination of salt, ice, and lemon down the disposal and grind it. This helps deodorize the drain as well as clean up any grime in it.
- I would suggest ditching old towels or paper towels and using microfiber towels. They’re soft and don’t leave any fuzz behind, which is always nice.
- While cooking, fill your sink with hot, soapy water. When you finish with a pot or pan, set it in the sink and, when you’re done with dinner, they’ll easily clean off instead of being hardened on.
- If you use a sponge, then make sure you microwave it every now and then to kill any germs and bacteria. You’ll also want to replace it, too, in between some of those cleanings.
- After cleaning your glass shower door, apply a coat of Rain-X to it. This will make water roll off, preventing any buildup of water stains for a while.
- Use half a lemon to clean any chrome fixtures you may have around the house. Simply rub the lemon on the chrome, rinse it, then dry.
- Use a squeegee to help pull up any fur or pet hair that’s on furniture or the carpet. Simply run the squeegee over the surface and then throw the clump of fur away.
